As a documentarian, I traveled the world to hear and share stories rooted in culture, place, and human experience. When I moved to Chennai in 2023, a new kind of storytelling began to unfold for me. It wasn’t a story told through words or images, but through the jewelry we choose, make, and wear.

In India, adornment is everywhere. Women wear gold bangles on morning walks, shopkeepers stack delicate rings, and families pass down heirloom pieces through generations. Jewelry is a living language. One that speaks of tradition, identity, and meaning. 

Each piece in this collection is inspired by the ancient and contemporary jewelry I encountered during that time. I wanted to capture not just the aesthetic beauty of these pieces, but the layered symbolism behind them. In India, jewelry serves as more than decoration. It is tied to astrology, personal milestones, and the subtle energies that shape our lives.

As a storyteller, I’ve always been drawn to objects that hold meaning, and this collection is an extension of that. These pieces are designed to evoke a deeper awareness. A reminder that everything we wear, touch, and create carries energy. In Indian tradition, jewelry bridges the material and the symbolic.
